5 reasons why you should book a family lifestyle photoshoot!

I am sure you can think of multiple excuses why you don't have time to have a professional family photoshoot; 'my high-lights need doing, it's hard to get everyone together, I need to loose 10 more pounds, there's never enough time, I can take photos on my phone....'

All those reasons, of course, are valid (I have used them all myself, multiple times if I am honest) but family memories are precious and time goes so fast, especially when you have little ones. Life can get so busy that sometimes you just need to make an excuse to have professional photos taken of you and your lovely family.

There are of course many reasons why you should book a professional family lifestyle photoshoot, but here are my top 5

1) Create Memories

Families are always growing and changing; people get married, little ones are born, children grow up, loved ones pass away, whilst others may move away. Past experiences shape us into who we are today. Photos capture these changes, creating a timeline of moments and memories (big or small) for you to look back on, and treasure for years to come.

Don't let life pass you by and find yourself looking back, wondering why you didn't take the time to have some family pictures taken.

2) Family Lifestyle Sessions are Fun!

I can understand why some people dread family portraits. Many families only experience photoshoots where everyone is crammed into a really small room, being instructed to pose or smile awkwardly.

You will be glad to know that family lifestyle sessions don't need to work that way. At least, mine don't!

Making a photography shoot fun reduces stress and by allowing you and your little ones to play around freely, It helps capture natural moments that show the beautiful relationships between you all.

What can you expect during a family lifestyle photoshoot with me?

- No awkward posing

- A natural and fun photoshoot

- Mostly lifestyle/documentary style photos.

- Fun-loving and real moments to treasure.

Lifestyle photography is perfect for those who feel awkward in front of the camera and want to avoid fake smiles or uncomfortable moments. It's also perfect for capturing genuine moments that bring life to your photos.

3) Everyone is in the photo and no one is stuck behind the camera

I've spoken to a lot of mums in the past and one of the main reasons they book a family photoshoot is because they are the ones always stuck behind the camera, meaning they miss out on being in the photos.

Having professional photographs taken means the whole family is included. As a parent, you are one of the most influential people in your child's life, so don't miss out on being in these moments.

4) A personal gift to share with loved ones.

Many of us have extended family we may not see very often, especially during the pandemic. Images from a family photoshoot make a lovely gift to share with the rest of the family, helping you all stay connected.

Plus, outdoor, candid style shoots make the most beautiful, natural images for your photo wall, albums or even to share on Instagram or Facebook.

5) Family portraits are great for children!

It's a psychological fact that children need a sense of belonging. Being part of a family portrait gives your children the knowledge that they are part of a family, it lets children learn who they are, where they fit in and where they come from.

Plus, it's a lovely keepsake to pass down to your children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren. After all, don’t we all love looking through old family photos?

Have I convinced you why you should book a family photoshoot?

There are SO many fantastic family photographers out there (I should know, I am friends with some of them) but if you would like to book a family photoshoot or you know somebody who would love this as a gift, I'd love to hear from you :)
